Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia (ARSO)
The Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia (ARSO) is a governmental institution operating under the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy. It plays a vital role in monitoring, analysing, and forecasting natural phenomena, with a strong focus on protecting natural resources, promoting sustainable development, and reducing environmental risks to people and property. ARSO maintains an active international cooperation network to support these efforts.
ARSO’s responsibilities include managing national systems for meteorological, hydrological, oceanographic, and seismological monitoring, along with providing forecasts and analyses of natural phenomena. The agency issues warnings about severe weather, floods, fire danger, snow avalanches, and air pollution. It safeguards environmental quality through the monitoring of soil, water, and air, and it carries out environmental impact assessments and related permitting procedures. In addition, ARSO fulfils Slovenia’s international obligations and facilitates the exchange of data concerning environmental pressures.
As part of its commitment to environmental science and collaboration, ARSO contributes in-kind support to the EMS 2025 conference, reinforcing its engagement with both the scientific community and broader public initiatives.

Slovenian Meteorological Society (SMD)
The Slovenian Meteorological Society (SMD) was founded in 1954, it brings together experts, researchers, students and enthusiasts of meteorology and atmospheric sciences. Its mission is to develop meteorological knowledge, promote professional development and raise public awareness of weather and climate phenomena. The society organizes lectures, symposia and excursions. It also cooperates with national and international institutions and has been one of the founding members of the European Meteorological Society, back in 1999. The SMD president is active on the Programme and Science Committee.
SMD publishes the professional journal Vetrnica. In addition, the society is dedicated to raising public awareness of climate change, weather extremes and sustainable environmental management. With educational content and an archive of events on its YouTube channel, it further strengthens the understanding of weather phenomena and their impacts on society.
Members of SMD and ARSO have been active in organising this EMS Annual Meeting, in particular its President Tanja Cegnar, has provided local contacts for many activities and vital information for the website and onsite participants.

University of Ljubljana
The University of Ljubljana is the central and largest educational and research institution in Slovenia. It implements and promotes basic, applied and developmental research and is pursuing excellence and the highest quality as well as the highest ethical criteria in all scientific fields and art. Based on its own, Slovenian, and foreign research, the University of Ljubljana (UL) educates critical thinking top scientists, artists and professionals qualified for leading sustainable development, taking into account the tradition of the European Enlightenment and Humanism and with regard to human rights. With active responses to events in the environment represents the critical conscience of the society.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Biotechnical Faculty of UL contributed to the identification of a topical theme for the conference, and supported the local organisation; Gregor Skok will also be contributing to the outstanding poster award selection.
On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, the local organising committee is planning two events for the local public, hosted by the University of Ljubljana. The first event will explore the development of modern meteorology and the potential applications of AI, while the second will focus on effective communication.

Association of Private Meteorological Services (PRIMET)
PRIMET is a pan European Trade Association for meteorological service providers operating in the private sector. It aims to promote a fair trading environment between the public and private sector in meteorology and its related disciplines.
PRIMET is inviting Early Career Scientists and convenors to a reception and contributing to a networking and mentoring event for Early Career Scientists, funding the ensuing Apéro.

Solco W. Tromp Foundation
The Tromp Foundation (Foundation for Biometeorological Research), the legacy of Solco W. Tromp, is funding various awards at the EMS Annual Meetings with the intention to promote biometeorology in Europe. Biometeorology is an interdisciplinary science studying the interactions between atmospheric processes and living organisms – plants, animals and humans. It provides answers to the question: How do weather and climate impact the well-being of all living beings?
The Tromp Foundation is supporting five young scientists with travel funds to attend the EMS2025 in Ljubljana and funds the EMS Tromp Award for an outstanding achievement in biometeorology

Harry Otten Prize Foundation
The Harry Otten Foundation announces the Harry Otten Prize with a biennial cycle since 2011; invited are ideas that are innovative, practical, realizable and bring Meteorology forward in society.
Three candidates for the 2025 prize have been invited to present their ideas at the Harry Otten Prize for Innovation in Meteorology: Finalists' Session at EMS2025 on Monday 8 September 2025 at 9am. The prize winner will then be announced on the same day in the EMS2025 Awards Session.
The Harry Otten Foundation is sponsoring the Coffee Break on Tuesday afternoon.
